Arthur Valentine is delighted to announce the release of his latest single, Fruit Juice, which lands July 17th.

Arthur Valentine, co-founder of Cork’s Hausu collective, expands the dimensions of his “magnificent (and) passionate” (Indie Buddie) sound with Fruit Juice; stepping away from the “impressively minimalist” (The Irish Times - Nialler9) production seen on debut single Selfish, yet maintaining Arthur’s “undeniable level of smooth” (REMY).

Fruit Juice is an ambitious bedroom pop track - the whole song written, recorded, produced and mixed in Arthur Valentine’s home studio. Yet despite its humble recording it absorbs influences that range from hip hop artists like Mac Miller and Tyler, the Creator, R&B artists such as Frank Ocean and Justin Timberlake, to alternative pop artists like Still Woozy, Dominic Fike and Surfaces.

Fruit Juice was born out of quarantine, the making of which has been described as a “cathartic exercise” by Arthur. Recorded over two weeks between tea and basketball breaks in the back garden, Fruit Juice is the brain child of Arthur and fellow Hausu collaborators-turned-roommates Actualacid and Automatic Blue. The track allowed its creators to escape the confines of their own home and imagine themselves “cruising down the street in a drop top on a sunny summer’s day” - a feeling undoubtedly shared by anyone who listens to the track.

The track opens with a sped-up sample acting as a genuine ray of sunshine cutting through the top, before a groove locks in, forming around bass guitar, bright, soft synths and the processed vocals that rapidly are becoming a signature of his sound. Channelling the energy of the radio on the July spin down familiar roads, the beat trades tiny details with Arthur's hook-driven songcraft, fading in distorted rap vocals, synth flourishes and little vocal effects, but overall letting his laid-back songwriting and delivery take the wheel.

Despite relative newcomer status, Arthur has already clocked up a lot of ‘gig-miles’ on the Irish circuit including headline slots at the Button Factory’s Crowbar, Cork’s Cyprus Avenue, Bodytonic’s Pot Duggans and a sold out Ruby Sessions show. In addition to this, he has performed numerous times in Cork’s Plugd (The Roundy) and Coughlan’s, as well as an additional performance in Cyprus Avenue supporting Sorcha Richardson.

Track written, recorded, produced and mixed by Arthur Valentine and mastered by Adam Haggar at Mount Olympia Mastering (Childish Gambino, Migos).
